Operators at the W1AW/Ø special event station handled the pileups in comfort, thanks to Heil Sound and their loan of 4 Heil Pro Set 5s headsets. The Heil Sound Pro Set is a lightweight, versatile boom mic/headset designed for comfort, durability, and, above all, performance. The earpieces are full sized, with heavily-stuffed cushions for operator comfort during long operating stints.

The Pro Set 5 (PS 5) is equipped with the HC-5 full-range element, which rolls off at 300 Hz on the low side, matching the IF or DSP filters of most modern HF transceivers. And the Pro Set iC (PS iC) utilizes the Heil Sound "iC" condenser element specially designed by Heil Sound for compatibility with the low gain found on many ICOM transceivers' mic amp stages.
