HamCon Colorado 2009 - May 29, 30 & 31st, 2009

HamCon Colorado 2009

The national association for Amateur Radio

Thanks for coming!

This year's ARRL Rocky Mountain Division's HamCon Colorado 2009 convention definitely lived up to the motto:

Amateur Radio: Resilient, Relevant, Ready

We would like to thank everyone who attended the convention. The final attendance was 499, which broke all records for this convention.

Over the next several days, we will be posting the names of the winners and the prizes were awarded as well as photos and comments made during the convention so check back often.

HamCon Colorado 2009 brought together 499 enthusiastic ham radio operators for a weekend of fun, forums, great eats, many dealers, tons of prizes, special event station W1AW/Ø, VE exams, fun competitions and memorable addresses by its guest speakers. This is what our ham radio community is all about! Congratulations to the HamCon Colorado committee for organizing and executing a top-notch, first-class convention. On behalf of ARRL and the Rocky Mountain Division, I thank everyone who attended and helped make it all happen. Until next time, see ya on the airwaves!

ARRL Rocky Mountain Division Director

What an absolutely wonderful extended weekend! Thanks for all the wonderful compliments - kudos go to the HamCon Colorado Committee who collectively spent well over 1,000 volunteer hours planning and executing this convention on behalf of the ARRL Colorado Section for the benefit of the Amateur Radio community. It also wouldn’t have happened without the financial support of the Colorado sponsoring clubs and vendors and, of course, the attendees. We'll take a couple of years off while Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico take their turns as ARRL Rocky Mountain Division convention hosts - and we'll look forward to seeing everyone in Colorado again in 2013.

Colorado Section Manager

HamCon Colorado 2009 lives on in our hearts even as it takes it's place in the finest tradition of Amateur Radio history. By all measures, it was an extraordinary event, made so by an indescribably talented planning committee, the incredible support of our enthusiastic and numerous attendees, our engaging speakers, our committed exhibitors, and a huge cadre of prize donors. Especially in these economic times, we are grateful beyond words for each of groups.

Throughout my engineering career, I've had great opportunities to work with some very fine teams, in several excellent companies. You need to know that your HamCon Colorado 2009 committee is truly among the finest! Wow! They skillfully put together a superb HamCon Colorado 2009 event with their boundless energy, unswerving dedication, focused perseverance, strong work ethic, creativity, thoughtfulness and outstanding teamsmanship (yes, that's actually a word, as of this very moment). We owe a great debt of gratitude to this group of amateurs and leaders!

HamCon Colorado will be back in 2013, and we sincerely hope that you'll support the intervening Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico ARRL Rocky Mountain Division conventions with the same exuberance you showed us.

Until 2013 then, vy 73,

Steve
