HamCon Colorado 2009 Transmitter Hunt
Back by popular demand, HamCon Colorado 2009 will be hosting a VHF only Transmitter Hunt (aka, Fox Hunt or T-Hunt) on Sunday, May 31st beginning at 10:00am sharp. The hunt will be held at nearby Stanley Park. Even if you have never participated in a Fox Hunt before, please join us. Second place is awarded to the participant that correctly identifies all transmitters and/or the most transmitters in the next shortest period of time. Third place is the same as above in the third shortest period of time. In all cases, MOST transmitters correctly identified will finish ahead of shortest time. Prizes will be awarded during the noon final drawings at the Holiday Inn. Winners must be present to accept the prize (see #9 Below). 5. There will be SOME RDF equipment to loan for the hunt on a first come first served basis. If you have your own, please use it. Bring an HT (with signal strength meter) with charged batteries and adapters to connect the antenna to BNC. Some SMA to BNC adapters will be available. The HamCon Colorado 2009 is not responsible if you do not have RDF equipment. Also if the loaned equipment fails for any reason, we can not be held responsible. 6. If any of the transmitters fail for any reason, that transmitter will be eliminated from competition. Only the remaining transmitters will be scored. 7. Watch your step! Although the terrain is relatively flat, there will be some hazards. Hamcon Colorado assumes no liability for terrain. This area is in a public park and on public school grounds. 8. Decisions of the judges are final. Disputes will be decided before the final drawings at the Holiday Inn at noon and will be announced at that time. 9.
